Firmware Update Flow

Applies to all deployments: This firmware update flow applies to NetReach deployments running on Azure, AWS, and VM / On-Prem environments.
  1. Firmware Check - NetReach checks to determine whether a newer firmware version is available compared to the version running on the target WTI unit.
  2. Firmware Download - If an update is available, NetReach downloads the firmware file and stores it locally (e.g., /home/NetReachCloud/firmware).
  3. Firmware Upload to Device - NetReach uploads the downloaded firmware file to the selected WTI unit, triggering the device’s internal firmware update process.
  4. Verification Delay - NetReach waits for the firmware update to complete using a verification delay timer (default: 3 minutes) to allow flashing and reboot operations.
  5. Update Verification & Status - After the delay, NetReach queries the device to confirm the installed firmware version. The result (success or failure) is displayed in the Update Firmware Status.
