16-Channel A/B Fallback Switch Base Unit, Dual Power Supply & Control Card (RJ45 Channel Cards Sold Separately
Data lines are the life blood of your network, any halt or slowdown could prove fatal. Fail-safe data transmissions are required for those who want to keep critical systems healthy and alive 24/7/365.
The AFS-16-1 helps you switch data between A or B lines when network events are detected. Fully loaded with SNMP, remote access, security & authentication features, event monitoring & notification alarms the AFS quickly, remotely & securely prevents data line disasters from occurring.
- SNMP/Ping-No-Answer/Alarm Based Routing of Data Lines
- Alarm/Switching Notification via SNMP, SYSLOG, Email or Text Message
- Switch Up to 16 Data Lines, Manually or Automatically
The AFS-16-1 provides a perfect solution for fallback/failover switching of T1, E1, RS232, RS422/485 and telephone lines. When a target device fails to respond to a ping command or a user-defined alarm is triggered, the AFS-16-1 can automatically reroute RJ45 data or ethernet lines to minimize downtime and maintain network communication. When the situation that triggered the fallback/failover is cleared, the AFS-16-1 can reroute A/B lines back to their original configuration. An SNMP trap, SYSLOG message, email or text message can also be sent to notify you when A/B switching occurs or when a user defined alarm is triggered.
The modular design of the AFS-16-1 allows the unit to grow to fit the requirements of your failover switching application. When you need fallback switching capabilities for more data or ethernet lines, additional RJ45 A/B Circuit Modules can be easily snapped into place in the AFS-16’s rack frame; each AFS-16-1 unit will accept up to sixteen RJ45 A/B Circuit Modules.
Includes Enterprise Management Software
The AFS-16-1 Data Fallback Switch includes WTI’s convenient Enterprise Management Software, which drastically simplifies the task of managing multiple WTI devices spread throughout your network infrastructure. The WMU Enterprise Management Software provides a centralized command interface that allows administrators to easily manage, label and control multiple AFS-16-1 Data Fallback Switches in large network applications, reducing the time required to access circuit switching functions for connected devices.
Once installed on your PC or laptop, the WMU Enterprise Management Software can search a user-defined IP address range on your network and discover all compatible WTI devices within the range. Discovered units are then added to the Enterprise Management Software’s inventory, allowing administrators to assign a descriptive tag to each WTI device in order to denote the location or function of the device. In addition to providing a centralized interface for circuit switching functions, the Enterprise Management Software can also be used to control firmware updates for WTI products and edit and manage user accounts at individual or multiple WTI devices.
