The VMR-HD4D30-8 includes a robust selection of monitoring features, including event alarms, outlet-specific metering and SNMP polling to help you keep tabs on vital network elements, avoid costly service calls and maximize up time.

The VMR-HD4D30 features four 30 Amp inputs, (8) eight individually metered and switched IEC C19 outlets and (8) eight 20 Amp UL-489 circuit breakers. Each circuit breaker protects one IEC C19 outlet and supports up to 20 Amps. The VMR-HD4D30-8 is ideal for remote power control and management of Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches, Juniper QFX10000 Series Switches and other high-amp equipment.

Advanced outlet level power metering capabilities allow the VMR-HD4D30-8 to measure and report Kilowatt Hours, Kilowatts, Amps, Voltage and Temperature. When any of these factors exceed threshold values, the VMR-HD can switch or reboot power and promptly send notification. In addition to its many alarm functions, the VMR-HD can also perform remote reboots and power shutdowns on individual outlets according to a user-defined schedule, when a ping command fails or on demand.

Energy consumption data from your IT equipment can be individually assessed at each VMR-HD circuit and used for billing, heat calculation and load distribution. The VMR's intelligent, feature-rich design allows you to meter, report and control total current, power and energy consumption in your rack, cabinet or remote site. This provides the perfect solution for data centers striving for reduced energy costs and LEED certification.

The VMR-HD can be configured and operated via its convenient IP web browser interface or by any SNMP MIB based enterprise management software. Versatile Alarm Functions for Automatic Reboot and Power Switching

In addition to performing on-demand power switching, the VMR also includes a poweful assortment of alarm functions, which can automatically reboot or switch outlets when high rack temperatures, open circuit breakers, power supply irregularities, unresponsive network elements and other significant events and conditions are detected. When alarm functions are triggered, the VMR can provide notification via email, SNMP trap or SYSLOG message. Each alarm can be customized to select triggers and response actions to fit your application.

Security and Co-Location

The VMR also includes a formidable array of security, authentication and co-location features to ensure that access to critical command and configuration functions is thoroughly protected from unauthorized access. In addition to password protection, the VMR also supports HTTPS, SSHv2, SNMPv3, TLS, IPSec, OpenVPN as well as popular authentication protocols such as LDAP, Active Directory, Kerberos, RADIUS and TACACS+.

The VMR's user account directory provides four different access levels; Administrator, Super User, User and View Only. Each account level enables the user to access to a different set of command, view or configuration capabilities. Higher level users can be granted access to all command, status and configuration functions, while lower level users can be limited only to control functions or status display capabilities.

Supports DUO Technology Radius 2FA

DUO is a cloud based two factor authentication (2FA) service that corroborates the identity of each logon to ensure that users are actually who they claim to be. When a user enters an account name and password to logon to the VMR, DUO then re-authenticates the user’s identity via mobile phone or other device. This effectively shifts access protection from a perimeter based approach that relies on the privacy of the user’s logon credentials, to an application based security solution that requires additional interaction from the user before access is granted.

SAN Certificate Support

In order to help simplify configuration and setup of SSL communication, VMR Series Products now support Subject Alternative Names (SAN). SAN is an extension to SSL X.509, that allows a selection of additional host names (DNS names, IP Addresses, Email Address and URIs,) to be protected by a single SSL Certificate. Subject Alternative Names allow you to perform virtual hosting of multiple SSL sites on a single IP address and eliminate the hassles involved in configuring multiple IP addresses on your server.

Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP)

Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) simplifies day 0 onboarding of VMR units and in many cases, eliminates the need to have an engineer present during initial set up. If configuration information is not detected during boot up, Zero-Touch Provisioning will be activated and the device will contact a DHCP server and then download a configuration script and perform a firmware update without user intervention. This drastically reduces service interruptions due to human error and cuts the time required to set up newly installed VMR Series products.

Remote Power Management for Cisco Nexus 9008 Switches

In this example, the VMR-HD4D30-8 is used to remotely reboot or power down a Cisco Nexus 9508 Switch. The VMR-HD4D30-8's eight switched, 20 Amp IEC C-19 outlets are used to provide power control for the Cisco Nexus. In addition to controlling power, the VMR-HD4D30-8 can also measure power consumption by the Nexus switch, and report results in chart or text format.

Remote Power Management for Cisco Nexus 9516 Switches

In this example, the VMR-HD4D30-8 is used to remotely reboot or power down a Cisco Nexus 9516 Switch. The VMR's eight metered and switched, 20 Amp IEC C-19 outlets are used to provide power control for the Cisco Switch. In addition to controlling power, the VMR can also measure power consumption by the Cisco switch, and report results in chart or text format.

Remote Power Management for Juniper QFX10000 Series Switches

The VMR-HD4D30-8 can also provide remote power switching, reboot and current monitoring capabilities for Juniper QFX10000 Series Switches. In this example, two seperate VMR-HD4D30-8 units are used to provide primary and secondary power to a Juniper QFX10016 Switch in a power redundancy application. The VMR's eight switched, metered, 20 Amp IEC C-19 outlets are ideal for Juniper QFX10016 Switches that include up to eight power supply modules. The VMR's power metering capabilities allow administrators to keep track of current consumption at each outlet and report power data in convenient chart form or text format. The VMR's power consumption alarm feature can also notify support personnel when power consumption exceeds user-defined trigger values.

All WTI console server and switched PDU products include WTI’s convenient Enterprise Management Software, which drastically simplifies the task of managing multiple WTI devices spread throughout your network infrastructure. The WMU Enterprise Management Software provides a centralized command interface that allows administrators to easily manage, label and control multiple WTI console servers and switched PDUs in large network applications, reducing the time required to access console port command and power control and reboot functions for connected devices.

Once installed on your PC or laptop, the WMU Enterprise Management Software can search a user-defined IP address range on your network and discover all WTI console servers and switched PDUs within the range. Discovered units are then added to the Enterprise Management Software’s inventory, allowing administrators to assign a descriptive tag to each WTI device in order to denote the location or function of the device. In addition to providing a centralized interface for remote console port access and power reboot and control functions, the Enterprise Management Software can also be used to control firmware updates for WTI products and edit and manage user accounts at individual or multiple WTI devices.
