The PollCat NetLink Jr. Call Accounting Terminal is a highly reliable PBX data recorder, designed for SMDR/CDR data collection and alarm monitoring. The unit can be polled over a network connection, direct connect, or via modem. In addition to storing call records, the NetLink Jr. can alert the proper personnel by pager or SNMP trap as soon as an alarm is detected.
Network and Modem Access
All command functions, including data retrieval and unit configuration, can be accessed via network or modem. When the NetLink Jr. is installed in a TCP/IP environment, Telnet can be used to access the command mode; if out-of-band access is required, you can also dial-up NetLink Jr.'s internal modem.
Stored data can be reliably retrieved using your terminal emulation program, or an FTP client. In addition, NetLink Jr.'s FTP Push feature can be configured to automatically send stored data according to a user-defined schedule.
Nonvolatile Memory
NetLink Jr. uses reliable, low cost flash memory to store call records and operating parameters. This means "No Batteries Required!" Even if power to the unit is lost, your call records will be stored indefinitely.
Alarm Monitoring
NetLink Jr. monitors your PBX 24 hours a day for alarm conditions and questionable phone activity. Each record is compared to an action table to determine what action will be taken when an alarm is detected.
NetLink Jr. allows the definition of up to sixteen alarm clues. Each clue can be assigned its own individual alarm action. NetLink Jr. can provide alarm notification via modem, console port, pager, or SNMP Trap, and can also automatically execute a user-defined command string.
Console Port
The Console Port can be used for local access to set or view NetLink Jr. parameters and retrieve data. This port can also be used as an additional bi-directional serial port with remote access capabilities.
Upgradable Firmware
Say good-bye to Eproms! NetLink Jr.'s flash memory allows you to remotely download the latest firmware revisions right over the network or phone line.
Password Security
NetLInk Jr. allows the definition of one supervisor password and two user passwords. The Supervisor Password allows access to all command and configuration functions, while the User Password allows only limited access to command functions.
Audit Trail Function
The Audit Trail function provides a record of command activity at the Console Port, Modem Port, and/or Network Port. When the Audit Trail function is activated, NetLink Jr. will create a log which lists data release actions, password use, alarm actions, configuration changes and other command activity. Each command activity record is time and date stamped and arranged in chronological order.
