Don't waste valuable resources by dedicating a PC solely for the purpose of collecting call data records! If you're using a PC to collect call data from your PBX, the CRB-2MB and CRB-4MB Call Data Recorders can do the job much more effectively, and can free up that PC for other, more vital tasks. For applications where call data is sent directly from your PBX to a printer, the CRB-2MB and CRB-4MB can provide an extra measure of reliability, by ensuring that important data is not lost when the printer runs out of paper, ribbon, or toner.

The CRB can record data from any PBX system that sends ASCII data via an RS232 interface. Individual baud rates allow simultaneous recording at one speed while outputting data at another speed. And the CRB is fast; you can transfer call records from the CRB to your PC at a maximum rate of 11,500 characters per second!
Non-Volatile Buffer Memory
The CRB-2MB and CRB-4MB also provide a substantial improvement over cheap DRAM printer buffers. If you're using a DRAM buffer to store call data, then you've probably already noticed that the slightest power glitch can corrupt all stored data. But that won't happen with the CRB's non-volatile, lithium battery-backed memory; the CRB can reliably store data for up to 60 days, even when the power is off. The CRB-2MB provides two megabytes of buffer memory and the CRB-4MB provides four megabytes of buffer memory.
Dual Compression Storage
The Dual Compression Storage method can more than double the amount of characters that can be stored. Based on the Nortel Meridian, single-line format, the CRB-2MB can store approximately 50,000 records, and the CRB-4MB can store approximately 100,000 records.

"Poll Now" Signal to PC
The CRB features a convenient "Poll Now" signal, which can be used to trigger your PC based polling software to automatically access the unit and retrieve stored data when memory becomes nearly full. When memory becomes at least 80% full, Computer Port Pin-8 will go high, notifying your polling software that it is time to retrieve stored data from the CRB.
"Almost Full" Audible Alarm
The Audible Alarm feature can emit a beeping tone when CRB memory becomes over 80% full. The Audible Alarm's beeping tone increases in intensity as more memory is used, providing a handy reminder that it's time to retrieve data.
Convenient Passthrough Communication
The CRB's Passthrough function allows quick, bi-directional communication between your PC and PBX via the CRB unit.
