NetLink Jr-VIP
The PollCat NetLink-VIP Call Accounting Terminal is an extremely reliable, PBX data recorder, designed for SMDR/CDR data collection and alarm monitoring. Data can either be collected via cable connection to one of three available RS232 I/O ports, or if your PBX supports Reliable Session Protocol, data can also be collected via the unit's PBX IP Port. Once call records have been collected by the NetLink-VIP, they can be easily retrieved via TCP/IP network, via modem, or by a local PC connected directly to the NetLink-VIP unit.

Network and Dial-In Access
All NetLink-VIP command functions, including data retrieval and unit configuration, can be accessed via network or modem. When the NetLink-VIP is installed in a TCP/IP environment, Telnet is used to access the command mode. If out-of-band access is required, you can also dial-up the NetLink-VIP's internal modem. Stored data can be reliably retrieved using standard network TFTP software or Zmodem protocol. Password protection and dialback security prevent unauthorized access to command functions.
Reliable Session Protocol
The NetLink-VIP's PBX IP port uses Reliable Session Protocol to collect call data from Avaya PBX switches via a TCP/IP network connection. This provides an easy, dependable means to retrieve data from remote Avaya switches, with added assurance that data will arrive intact and uncorrupted.
Notification Via Email
When an alarm is generated, or a scheduled action occurs, the NetLink-VIP can automatically send email to two user-defined addresses. The Email Notification feature can be employed by the Toll-Fraud alarm filters, the 80% full alarm, the "No Data" alarm, the optional input contact alarms, and can also be selected as a scheduled action. This means that the NetLink-VIP can provide prompt notification via email when suspect call records are detected, and can also quickly alert you to conditions such as loss of data from the PBX, or to remind you to retrieve data before memory becomes full.
Nonvolatile Flash Memory
The NetLink-VIP uses durable, low-cost flash memory for storage of call records and operating parameters. This eliminates the need to check and replace depleted batteries. If power to the unit is lost or interrupted, stored data can be retained indefinitely, without worrying about low or dead batteries. The NetLink-VIP is available with 512K to 64 Megabytes of internal memory. If more memory is needed later, additional memory modules can easily be snapped into place.
FTP Push Data Transfer
FTP Push capability allows the NetLink-VIP to automatically download stored call records via network to your FTP server. Downloads can be performed on demand, or according to a user-defined schedule. The FTP Push feature can retrieve all data stored in the NetLink-VIP unit, or only specific types of data. For example, the FTP download can be limited to only data that was received from a specific PBX Port, or only call records that matched a specific alarm filter.
SNMP Traps
Alarm messages, memory full status, and a variety of other conditions can be reported to your network manager via standard SNMP traps. SNMP Traps can be used to provide notification when an alarm event occurs, or simply perform a wellness check according to a user-selected schedule.
Four Data Input Ports
The NetLink-VIP includes four separate data input ports; a PBX IP port, two serial PBX ports and an Auxiliary Port. This allows the unit to collect data from four different sources. The Auxiliary Port can be connected to a third PBX, or other data generating device, or used to pass commands to a connected device such as WTI's RPB+ Remote Power Control Bar. Flow control, baud rate, and other communication parameters can be individually defined for each port. When the unit is polled, data from the four ports can be combined, read separately, or sorted by data type.
User-Friendly Menu System
All command functions, including data retrieval and unit configuration, can be accessed via an easy-to-understand menu system. Each command operation is plainly labeled, and organized according to function.
Easy Firmware Upgrade
When program upgrades are available, there is no need to struggle with EPROM installation; the NetLink-VIP's flash memory allows you to upload the latest firmware revisions via modem or console port.
Audit Trail Function
The Audit Trail function provides a record of command activity at the Console Port, Modem Port and/or Network Port. When the Audit Trail function is activated, the NetLink-VIP will create a log which lists data release actions, password use, alarm actions, configuration changes, and other command activity. Each command activity record is time and date stamped and arranged in chronological order.
Security Features
Access to important data retrieval and command functions is protected by password and dialback security. The NetLink-VIP features three user-defined passwords, and two different security levels. When the NetLink-VIP is contacted via modem or network, a password prompt is displayed. If a User Level password is entered, the unit will start up in User Mode, which allows basic polling tasks, but prevents access to sensitive configuration menus. If a Supervisor Level password is entered, the unit will start up in Supervisor Mode, allowing access to all command functions. When additional security is required, the Dialback function will check passwords, disconnect, and then dial the caller back at a pre-defined modem number before allowing access to command functions. You may also be interested in this/these product(s)
