The NetLink-III can be polled over a network connection, direct serial connection, or via modem. In addition to storing call records, the unit will monitor your PBX 24 hours a day for questionable phone activity such as excessive after-hours or weekend calls. The NetLink-II looks at each call record and compares the data to a set of alarm parameters that have been selected as a suspicious condition. If an alarm is detected, the NetLink-II can immediately alert the proper personnel by email or SNMP. The alarm message can include the calling extension, time of day, the events that triggered the alarm and the call record itself.

Network and Dial-In Access
All NetLink-II command functions, including data retrieval and unit configuration, can be accessed via network or modem. When the NetLink is installed in a TCP/IP environment, Telnet or SSH can be used to access the command mode. If out-of-band access is required, you can also dial-up the NetLink's internal modem. Stored data can be reliably retrieved using a standard FTP or SFTP client or Zmodem protocol. Password protection and dialback security prevent unauthorized access to command functions.
Reliable, Battery-Backed Memory
NetLink-II uses durable, battery-backed memory for storage of call records and operating parameters. If power to the unit is lost, stored data and parameters can be retained for up to one year.
Advanced Security
Secure Shell (SSHv2) encryption and address-specific IP security masks prevent unauthorized access to NetLink-II command and configuration functions, and ensure that data sent from the unit remains confidential.
The NetLink-II features user-defined passwords, and two different security levels. When the NetLink-II is contacted via modem or network, a password prompt is displayed. If a User Level password is entered, the unit will start up in User Mode, which allows basic polling tasks, but prevents access to sensitive configuration menus. If a Supervisor Level password is entered, the unit will start up in Supervisor Mode, allowing access to all command functions.
When additional security is required, the NetLink Dialback function will check passwords, disconnect, and then dial the caller back at a pre-defined modem number before allowing access to command functions.
FTP and SFTP Push Data Transfer
FTP and SFTP Push capability allows the NetLink-II to automatically download stored call records via network to your FTP server. Downloads can be performed on demand, or according to a user-defined schedule. The FTP/SFTP Push feature can retrieve all data stored in the NetLink-II unit, or only specific types of data. For example, the FTP download can be limited to only data that was received from a specific PBX Port, or only call records that matched a specific alarm filter.
SNMP Traps, Email and Text Messaging
Alarm messages, memory full status, and a variety of other conditions can be reported to your network manager via standard SNMP traps, email or text messages. All of methods can be used to provide notification when an alarm event occurs, or simply perform a wellness check according to a user-selected schedule.
Two Data Input Ports
The NetLink-II features two different methods for collecting data from your PBX units; Data can either be collected via direct serial cable connection to the PBX unit, or an IP connection can be used to collect data using RSP. When the unit is polled, data from the serial PBX and IP PBX can be combined, read separately, or sorted by data type.
User-Friendly Menu System
All command functions, including data retrieval and unit configuration, can be accessed via an easy-to-understand menu system. All command operations are plainly labeled, and organized according to function.
Easy Firmware Upgrade
When program upgrades are available, there is no need to struggle with EPROM installation; the NetLink-II's allows you to upload the latest firmware revisions via network, modem or console port.
Other Security Features
Access to important data retrieval and command functions is protected by password and dialback security. When additional security is required, the Dialback function will check passwords, disconnect, and then dial the caller back at a pre-defined modem number before allowing access to command functions.
