Monitoring and Alarm Capabilities
In addition to providing secure, effective, remote reboot and power control, WTI DC Power Switches also include a versatile assortment of monitoring and alarm functions, designed to help keep network administrators better informed regarding conditions and events at remote network equipment cabinets and other off-site facilities. WTI DC Power Switches can constantly monitor rack temperatures, communication problems, unresponsive devices, excessive invalid access attempts and other critical factors at the remote site, and then automatically notify administrators and tech support personnel via SNMP trap, email or SYSLOG message when any monitored condition or event exceeds user-defined threshold values. If desired, these monitoring and alarm functions can also be configured to automatically switch user-selected DC terminals On or Off when potentially hazardous conditions are detected.
Supports Both IPv4 and IPv6
In order to prepare for the upcoming switchover to IPv6 protocol, all WTI 48V DC Power Reboot Switches now provide full support for both IPv4 and IPv6 (the intended successor to IPv4.) This helps to ensure that WTI 48V DC Power Reboot Switches purchased today will be fully compatible with the planned IPv6 internet environment, and will not be rendered obsolete when the IPv6 protocol eventually becomes the new worldwide standard for network communications.
